In conjunction with the celebration of Chinese New Year, Da Ma Cai donated RM800,000 to 80 welfare organisations, where each organisations will receive RM10,000, benefiting some 6,000 residents, trainers and member of the organisations. Johor Cheshire Home received RM10,000.

At the 23rd Chinese New Year Festival Charity Programme in Johor Cheshire Home, Mr. Andrew Ho, Senior Manager, Numbers Forecast Operations said that everyone can play a part in helping the needy, aside from financial support and contributions in kind, individuals can also do their bit by offering their skills and sharing some quality time with the less fortunate. A simple gesture such as today where everyone come together with the less fortunate in an atmosphere of celebration and joy, shows the importance of sharing and caring for one another.
He said, to date, Da Ma Cai has donated over RM16 million through its charity programme, funding the development of welfare organisations to provide better services to the less fortunate.
He presented RM10,000 donation to each 22 welfare organisations from Johor, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.
Johor Cheshire Home Vice President, Mr Arulananthan said, the donation can ease the financial burden of the organization and that he was thankful of Da Ma Cai’s contribution.
He said, Johor Cheshire Home was founded in 1960. Currently there are 15 volunteer staff and 40 residents.
He pointed out that the home’s sources of income are from rent, public donations, CSR donations, allocations from Central and Regional government. This allows the home to continue operating and to providing assistance to the under privilege.
